Ardella Dodd

Ardella Dodd, 90, of Springfield, died at 7:50 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Sunrise Skilled Nursing in Virden. Ardella was born on February 25, 1926 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Marcella Radavich Yuscius. She married Charles Dodd on June 21, 1952 in Springfield, IL; he preceded her in death. Ardella graduated from Lanphier High School and worked in sales for Kroger and Sam's Club. She was a friendly, caring, and religious woman and loved her family very much. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Ardella was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She loved dancing and bowling; once having bowled a score of 294. Ardella was also preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Tony, John, Stanley, and Mary Yuscius, Annie Asher, and Josephine Paveletich. She is survived by her sons, Matthew (Diane) Dodd of Auburn, Steven (companion, Mary Lynn Egizii) Dodd of Springfield, and Jefferey (wife, Amy) Dodd of Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Katie (husband, Jeff) Malke, Melissa (husband, John) Curran, and Christopher and Eric Dodd; great-grandchildren, Jayleigh and Vivienne; sister, Patricia Bietsch of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield, with Deacon Greg Maynerich celebrant.
