

B. Arlene Johnson, 85, of Springfield, passed away at 12:13 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Heritage Manor. Arlene was born October 12, 1925 in Sinking Spring, PA, the daughter of William T. and Lucinda M. Hartman Hoff. She married Donald W. Johnson. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1995. Arlene graduated from McCaskey High School in Lancaster, PA and worked as a secretary for Lincoln Land Community College for 16 years in the Math Dept. She was a member of Chatham Presbyterian Church and taught in the pre-school nursery class at church for 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, music and singing in the choir. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. She is survived by her three sons, Dean (wife, Gayle) Johnson of Chatham, Scott Johnson of Auburn and Todd Johnson of Springfield; brother, Major General (Retired) John W. (wife, Roselyn) Hoff, of Columbus, IN. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to the memorial ceremony. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial ceremony at 11:00 a.m. at Chatham Presbyterian Church, 1835 E. Walnut, Chatham with Dr. Joe Eby officiating. Burial will be at Stout Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 687 E.
