Barbara A. Elston, 67, of Petersburg, IL passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at St. John�s Hospital, Springfield, IL. She was born to Charley and Verna (Wikowsky) Detmers on April 8, 1944 in Pana, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Donald Elston Sr.; sons Donald (Leslie) Elston Jr. of Springfield, IL and Jack (Tara) Elston of Springfield, IL; daughters Deanna Soto of Midland, TX and Kymi (Eric) Campbell of Petersburg, IL; sister Carol (Jack) Moore of Rochester, IL; brothers Chuck (CaraLynne) Detmers of Decatur, IL, Tom (Vickie) Detmers of Witt, IL, and John (Debbie) Detmers of Garland, TX; and grandchildren Eryca Campbell, Aaron and Isaac Soto, Hannah, Luke and Jake Elston. Barb retired from Horace Mann Insurance Company after 25 years of service. She was known for being a very loving person. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, baking, and taking care of her horses. The visitation and funeral services will be private, for family only.
