

Benjamin Wayne Motley, 46 of Andrew, died at 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital. Benjamin was born on July 29, 1959 in Decatur, the son of Charles and Patricia Fausman Motley. He was a graduate of Southeast High School and a U.S. Army Veteran where he received the Good Conduct Medal and Army Service Ribbon. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for Marten Transport Company. Benjamin was a loyal, compassionate and witty gentleman who loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He also loved the outdoors, computers and reading. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles “Bud” Motley, Jr. He is survived by his two daughters: Jessica (husband, Chuck) Spiedel of Chatham and Jackie (fiancé, Tony Blakeman) Motley of Springfield; his fiancé, Patty Sklenka and her children: Joe, Melissa, Angela, Sarah and Jonathan Sklenka of Andrew;; six grandchildren: Tyler Motley, Lucas, Evan and Halle Spiedel all of Chatham and Alexia and Collin Blakeman of Springfield; brothers and sisters: Joy Campbell of Hannibal, MO, Janet (husband, Bud) Hickman-Roberts of Springfield, Deryl Motley of Springfield, Chris (wife, Mary Ann) Motley of Pleasant Plains, Candy Motley of Pawnee, Kelly (husband, Jim) Hibbs of Athens and Patrick (wife, Deborah) Motley of Springfield and several aunts and uncles and nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Rebecca Sundquist officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1305 Wabash, Suite J, Springfield, IL 62704.
