Betty Jean Dodson passed away on March 17, 2010 at Meramec Bluffs Retirement Home in St. Louis, MO. She was born in Mattoon, IL on July 21, 1922, the daughter of Jesse and Edith LaClair. She married Gene Dodson in June 1946 who passed away in April 2002.
Betty was a graduate of Springfield High School and attended Brown’s Business College. She was formerly employed by The John Bressmer Company and Central Illinois Public Service Company.
She was a member of Laurel Methodist Church, Church Women United and the Springfield Civic Garden Club.
She is survived by niece Denise LaHay and husband Greg of St. Louis, MO; niece Ruthie Collins and husband Mike and son Matt of Springfield; and brother-in-law Wade Baker of Jefferson City, MO.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Laurel United Methodist Church from 10 am until the funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
