Betty McDermont

Betty McDermont, 82, of Springfield, formerly of Vincennes, IN, died at 2:58 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Betty was born January 27, 1932 in Vincennes, IN. She was one of ten children born to Fred and Nora Martin Doll. She married Ralph McDermont on May 16, 1959 in Vincennes, IN at St. John the Baptist Church. Betty graduated from St. Rose Academy in Vincennes, IN and attended a business school there, as well. She was a member of Christ the King Parish. She loved dogs and enjoyed taking in dogs in need and volunteering for pet organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings. She is survived by her husband, Ralph McDermont of Springfield; two sons, Mike McDermont and Mark McDermont, both of Springfield; three grandchildren, Dr. Katherine McDermont of San Francisco, CA, Sarah McDermont and Adam McDermont, both of Louisville, KY; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Church, 803 Main St., Vincennes, IN with Rev.
