

Blythe Eldridge, 92, of Springfield, died at 8:57 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center. Blythe was born August 23, 1911 in Oxford, Michigan, the daughter of Morgan and May Blythe Axford. She married Carlton B. Eldridge on June 23, 1943 in Lansing, MI and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1998. She was a former longtime member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Daniel Eldridge and two brothers: Hilton and Daniel Axford. She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie (husband, Elpidio) Torres of Villa Park, one son, David (wife, Suzanne) Eldridge of Naples, FL, four grandchildren: Richard (fiance, Susy) Biagioli of Villa Park, Wendy (fiancé, Lou) Biagioli of Lombard, Morgan Worth Eldridge of Pensacola, FL and Brittany Biagioli of Villa Park and several cousins. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Michigan at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to National Federation of the Blind of Illinois, 11 Pitner Place, Jacksonville, IL 62650-2266. The family of Blythe Eldridge is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
