

He was born on March 8, 1959 in Springfield, son of P. Wesley and Cecilia Mae (Britz) Nickelson. He married Robbin Lange on Nov. 8, 1989 in Las Vegas, NV, she survives.
Brad retired from Stone Seed as production manager, was a co-owner of The Garden Path, and had worked as a manager at H.M. Buckley and Sons Greenhouse. Brad worked after high school for the Curran Gardner Water district and for a few years at Panther Creek Golf club. He enjoyed golfing, mushrooming, gardening and his retirement jobs, mowing and doggie day care.
Besides wife Robbin, Brad is survived by his mother, Cecilia Mae Nickelson; 5 children, Chandra Nickelson of Amarillo, TX, Chad (Nicole) Nickelson of Riverton, IL, Phil (Chelsea) Peddycoart of Petersburg, IL, Josh (Kaylyn) Nickelson of Springfield, and Lana Nickelson of Milwaukee, WI; 9 grandchildren, Gwen Wisecup, JayAnn Summy, Benjamin Summy, Ryleigh Summy, Angelique Ralston, Trent Nickelson, Nathan Nickelson, Bryson Peddycoart, and Piper Nickelson; 5 siblings, Dave (Anna) Nickelson of Pleasant Plains, IL, Charisse (Chris) Froemke of Lino Lakes, MN, Brian Nickelson of Springfield, Jeff Nickelson of Springfield, and Doug (Brenda) Nickelson of Pleasant Plains, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father P. Wesley Nickelson.
Arrangements are under direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, where a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 1 pm until 4 pm. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
