Brenda K. Brewer

She was born on July 2, 1954, in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of Bracken G. Brewer, Sr. and Mattie “Mae” (Patton) Funderburk.

Brenda was retired from St. John’s Hospital’s housekeeping department. She enjoyed listening to 80’s country music and watching Nash Bridges and crime shows in general.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mary Brewer.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Chris) Hackwith of Springfield; grandchildren, Paige (Dylan) Harbin of Springfield, and Katie Hackwith, Christopher “CJ” (Alexis) Hackwith, Jr., and Michael Carlson, all of Lincoln, IL; great-grandchild, Dakota “Little One” Harbin; siblings, Bracken “Glen” (Susie) Brewer, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC, Michael Kissinger of Springfield, and Ray (Anne) Colclasure of Springfield; and nieces and nephews, Bracken Brewer, Jr., Jamie (Aaron) Kelner, Julie (Gerald) Goin of Fayetteville, NC, Teresa (Tevin) Hill of Hutto, Tx, Aisha (Chris) Miller of Chesterfield, MO, and Chelsea Bernardini and Tanner (Bree) Colclasure, both of Springfield.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to services.

Private family services will be held at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. W., Springfield.
