

Broice was born on January 19, 1954, in Springfield, the son of Marion Gray and Geraldine Louise (Main) Hill. He married Amy Edwards on August 8, 2008 at Washington Park in Springfield.
Broice graduated from Lanphier High School in 1973. He worked for District 186 doing maintenance and then moving into a courier role from 1996 to 2012. Broice was a Mason and a member of the Midwest Crop Hoppers and a lifetime member of Abraham Lincoln Gun Club. He enjoyed airplanes and flying, taking weekend trips, traveling to Mackinaw Island with his wife, and he was an animal lover. Broice was a proud grandfather who loved his family very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmom, Maxine Hill; and many beloved dogs, including Bella.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; daughters, Cheryl Hill-Schempp of Springfield and Diana (Matthew) Lovell of Chandlerville; sons, Bryce Marr and Nolan Marr, both of Springfield; grandchildren, James, Jonah, Justin “Luke,” Eliana “Elie,” Ana, Kennedy, Grayson “Max,” and Caroline; brother, Eric (Mary) Hill of Hudson; niece, Heather Arndt; nephew, Robbie Hill; and many cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity.
Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
