C. Louis Midden

C. Louis Midden, 65, of Springfield, died at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center. Louis was born on October 29, 1940 in Springfield, the son of Charles Henry and Annette Elizabeth Herrin Midden. He married Roslinda M. Churchill and then later married Nancy Jenkins Gifford. He attended St. James Trade School and was part owner of Mr. B’s IGA from 1972 to 1990. After retirement he was employed as a courier for the Springfield Clinic. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #437. He enjoyed fishing, yard work and woodworking. Louis was a kind and caring gentleman; who will be remembered for his hard working nature and that he considered his family his greatest accomplishment. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife: Nancy Midden of Springfield; one son: Gregory L. Midden of Springfield; two daughters: Donna M. (companion, Doug Cody) Midden of Riverton and Susan K. (companion, Randall Huggins) Midden of Springfield; two grand-children: Amanda and Alexa; one step-daughter: Karen (husband, Ed) Luster of Springfield; one step-son Gregory (wife, Chris) Gifford of Springfield; three step-grand-children: Frances, Mitchell and Emma; three sisters: Sherri Ann, Theresa and Marcia; one brother: Rex and several nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Cremation will be accorded by Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield following the visitation services. Private Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
