Carl Richard Wright, Jr

Carl Richard Wright, Jr., 58, of Thayer, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 6, 1959 in Owosso, Michigan to Carl Richard and Juanita Faye Harter. He married Jodi Lynn Grieme February 10, 2000. Carl was preceded in death by his father. Carl served his country in the US Army. He was employed by Freedom Chevrolet as a driver in the service department for several years. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 18 years, Jodi; daughter, Stacie (Richard) Fortner of Thayer; grandchildren, Ryhanna Merrifield, Harlee, Laykin and Jayden Fortner; mother, Juanita Lawson of Taylorville; sisters, Sharon (Terry) Faulkner of Taylorville, Pam (Mike) Hyde of Springfield; brothers, Scott Wright of Pawnee and Keith Wright of Taylorville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His family will greet friends from 5 pm-7 pm, Tuesday, June 12, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Cremation rites will then be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Memorial service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, June 13 at Staab Polk Memorial Home, with Reverend Michael Hyde officiating. Committal service at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 2 pm; the Interveterans Burial Detail and the Department of Defense will conduct Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
