

Carolyn Esther (Schnepf) Shaffer, 66, of Glenarm, formerly of Barry, went to our Lord at 3:43pm, July 10, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born December 28, 1948 in rural Adams County to Carl and Maxine Schnepf. Carolyn was united in Marriage on June 17, 1972 in El Dara, IL to Donald Shaffer. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 43 years, Donald of Glenarm; sons Eric and Ben Shaffer of Glenarm; brothers, Raymond Schnepf of Barry, IL, John (Diana) Schnepf of Barry; sisters-in-law Peg (Leo) Feikert of Blandinsville, IL, Judy (Perry) Kimble of Linton, ND, Janet Shaffer of Macomb; nieces, Shelly (Dan) Brennecke of Pittsfield, IL, Tammy Fisher (Eddie Stricklkand), Lisa Feikert-Greer of Blandinsville, Teresa (Joe) Logsdon of Colchester, Lori Feikert of Macomb, Tina (Troy) Demoss of Rushville; nephews, J.J. Schnepf of Barry, Jack (Cindy) Kimble of Linton, ND; several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one brother-in-law. Mrs. Shaffer worked in manufacturing in Quincy, IL, Lennexa, KS, Jacksonville, IL, before going to school and working as a secretary/bookkeeper for WXFM in MT. Zion and Hills Trucking Co. in Decatur, IL. She loved flowers, gardening, sewing, cooking and baking. Carolyn was an avid reader, completing over 120 books. Most of all, she was a devoted wife and loving mother. Visitation: Carolyn�s family will greet friends from 4-8pm, Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL 62629. Funeral ceremony: will be conducted at 11am, Wednesday, July 15, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, with Pastor Rocky Woolery, from Mt. Zion Christian Church, officiating.
