Cathleen Young

Cathleen Young, 59, of Chatham, IL passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009, at St. John's Hospice in Springfield. Cathleen was born on November 30, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Harry and Lucille Holewinski Ostaszewski. She married Allan Young on March 1, 1969 in Milwaukee, WI. Cathleen was a dedicated wife and mother. She was formally employed at Phoenix International and enjoyed working on crafts, which she sold at craft fairs. Cathleen was a member of Cathedral Catholic Church and was also a member of Weight Watchers, where she will be missed by the many friends she made there. Cathleen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Allan Young of Chatham, IL; her children, Robbie (wife, Patricia) Young of Chatham, IL and Stella (husband, Marcus) Banks of Springfield, IL; her grandchildren, Isaac Young and Mekhi Banks; her siblings, Justine "Joy" (husband, Tommy) Kosharek of Clearwater, FL, Christine Shaughnessy, and Daniel, Cindy, Barbara, Julie, and Lisa Ostaszewski, all of Milwaukee, WI; in addition to several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2009, at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Harmon, officiating. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. An additional gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009 until the time of a funeral mass at 6:00 p.m. at the Prince of Peace Church, 1138 S. 25th St., Milwaukee, WI. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
