Chad Phillip Woods

Chad was born September 4, 1976, in Normal, IL, the son of Larry James and Donna Marie Schober Woods.

He attended Pawnee High School until his senior year and then graduated from Calvary Academy in 1995. Chad attended Lincoln Land Community College for one year and then transferred to Rockford First Assembly Masters Commission Program for six years where he was a student and then staff member. He was a Pastor at multiple churches, including working as a Youth Pastor at Calvary Temple. Chad also worked at Pro Com Services of Illinois in Springfield. He enjoyed working with technology and loved sports, especially basketball.

Chad was preceded in death by his father, Larry James Woods.

He is survived by his children, Ashton Luke and Scarlett Claire Woods, both of Springfield; mother, Donna (husband, Robert D.) Biggs of Springfield; step-mother, Sharon Woods of Springfield; brother, Trevis (wife, Kelley) Woods of Sherman; niece, Addison J. Woods; nephews, Kaleb J., Tanner J., and Sawyer J. Woods; step-brothers, Patrick (wife, Betty) Biggs, Kevin (wife, Nancy) Biggs, and Brian Biggs; step-sister, Kimberly (husband, Matt) Homeier; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield. Illinois COVID-19 guidelines will be followed, requiring face coverings and limiting attendance to 50 guests at one time.

Private family burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.
