Charles W. Courtwright II

Charles was born September 11, 1958, in Springfield, IL, the son of Charles W. and Shirley Edwards Courtwright. He married Nancy Workman on October 1, 1983, in Springfield.

Charles graduated from Riverton High School in 1976 and was employed as a union worker for IBEW Local 51 at Ameren for 45 years. He loved being outdoors, grilling, fishing, hunting, boating, and cruising the back roads. Charles owned many boats and loved spending time with his family on them. He supported his children and grandchildren in their many sports and activities. Charles was also an avid Notre Dame and Illini fan. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his aunt and several cousins.

Charles is survived by his wife, Nancy Courtwright of Dawson; son, Brian (Megan) Courtwright of Mechanicsburg; daughters, Rachel (Jason) Crain of New Berlin, Megan (Joseph) Watson of Riverton, and Hannah Courtwright of Dawson; grandchildren, William and Olivia Crain, Andrew, Hailey, Alex, Asher, and Harper Watson, and Cameron, Riley and Ella Courtwright; parents, Charles and Shirley Courtwright of Springfield; and sisters, Debby (John) Bault and Terri Courtwright.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
