Charles Douglas Price, 84, of Springfield, passed away at 4:28 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Charles was born on February 10, 1932 in Mattoon, the son of Edward and Esther L. (Karl) Price Sr. Charles proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue in 1991 after 30 years of service. Charles was a member of Broadway Christian Church in Mattoon. He enjoyed flea marketing, auctions, and crocheting afghans for others. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward Jr., Jack H. Sr., and Franklin D. Price; and a sister, Bobbi Jane Stalter. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Sheila Price of MO; and several nieces and nephews, including Tom and Sherri Price of PA. Funeral Ceremony: 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield with visitation following from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Committal Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon.
