Charles M. Rowland

Charles was born on April 16, 1966, in Springfield, the son of Charles Leroy and Carol Louise Johnstone Rowland.

Charles attended Lanphier High School. He was self-employed utilizing his talent at construction work. Charles was also a Riverton Firefighter and a member of many organizations including the Ansar Shriners, a Master Mason at the Blueville Lodge #647, and the Master overseer of the Scottish Rite. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, golfing, cooking, and above all, time with family. Charles was also an avid collector of “junk”.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; granddaughter, Teagan Louise Rowland; and beloved dog, Daisy.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Rowland of Springfield; his son, Charles R. (wife, Samantha) Rowland of Buffalo; stepchildren, Jennifer Stark of Riverton and J.R. (wife, Megan) Combs of Tinley Park, IL; his parents, Carol and Charles Rowland of Sherman; nine grandchildren, Jaycee, Braelynn, and Charles “Amos” Rowland, Austin Combs, Tanner and Lexie Stark, and Hudson, Finley, and Ashton Combs.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Family Hosted Memorial Gathering & Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Riverton Christian Church, 1245 N. Seventh, Riverton. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Atwell officiating.
