

Constantina P. Henson, 84, of Springfield, died at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at St. Johns Hospital. Tina was born April 16, 1933 in Kincaid, the daughter of Frank and Gilda Passini Merano. She married Melvin R. Henson on June 19, 1954 at St. Ritas Catholic Church in Kincaid. Tina graduated from Kincaid High School and was employed as an office secretary at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School for seventeen years. Prior to that, she had been a house mother at St. Johns School of Nursing for three years. She was a member of Christ the King Parish and Troop Leader and Den Mother for her childrens Scout groups. Tina was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed making jewelry and crocheting. She was also an excellent cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ronald and Donald Henson; sisters, Gentilina Novak, Irene Merano, and Mary Roddy; and brothers, Clarence, Louis, and Frank Merano. Tina is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Melvin R. Henson of Springfield; sons, Victor Joseph Henson of Jacksonville and Eric David (wife, Kate) Henson of Boulder, CO; daughters, Annette Marie Henson of Springfield and Tracey Ann (husband, Nick) Skokna of Hinsdale; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Christ the King, 1930 Barberry, Springfield with Rev. Joseph Ring and Rev. Msgr. David S.
