Infant Damarius Miguel Mays, Jr., passed away at 11:04 on Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. John's Hospital, Carol Jo Vecchie Women & Children's Center. Damarius was preceded in death by two uncles, Antryon Smith and Antwone Fields, Jr. He is survived by his parents, Damarius Miguel Mays, Sr. and Aaliyah Griffin of Springfield; one brother, Zane Griffin; grandparents, Angela Huggins (Eric Ellington) of Springfield, Early Griffin of Springfield, Felicia Marshall (Lisa Marshall) of Decatur, and Antwone (Charlene) Fields, Sr. of Mississippi; aunts and uncles, Ciera (Brian) Kirkham, Erica Huggins, Candis Huggins, Christopher Huggins, Sr., Tanekqwa Griffin, Sharika Griffin, Chovez Griffin, and Anjelicia Mays, all of Springfield, and Antwonette Fields of Decatur; as well as friend of the family, Ramona Martin. Private family ceremonies will be held at a later date.
