Daniel Lee Janus

Daniel Lee "Danny" Janus, 46, of Springfield, passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. Danny was born April 24, 1965 in Springfield, the son of Daniel John and Linda Lee Jaeger Janus. Danny was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Braveheart horseback riding club. He graduated from District 186 and enjoyed horseback riding, basketball, and bowling. He was very patriotic, loved to joke and was a joy to his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel John Janus; and his grandparents, Leon and Marie Jaeger and John and Myrtle Janus. He is survived by his mother, Linda Lee Janus of Springfield; sister, Anne-Marie (husband, Jeff) Thrasher of Ormond Beach, FL; two brothers, Mark Janus of Springfield and Todd (wife, Peggy) Janus of Des Moines, IA; and his nieces and nephews, Amy, David, Marie, and Betsy Janus and Andrew Thrasher. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 533 S. Walnut, Springfield with Rev. David Anderson officiating.
