

Darrell L. Jaggers, 74, of Virden, IL, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Virden on February 7, 1938, he was the son of the late Roba and Wilimeda Jennings Jaggers. He was preceded in death by his stepdad, William Pollack. Mr. Jaggers is survived by his daughters Kim Jaggers Crays of Virden and Gena Jaggers Donaldson of Varna, and their mother, Mary Downs Jaggers of Virden; grandchildren Brooke (Jeremy, significant other) Crays of Decatur, Matthew Crays, Nicholas Donaldson, Holly Donaldson and Asa Donaldson, all of Virden; sister Carol Ann (Ken) Lovely of Girard; stepsister Jan (Richard) Matta of NV; stepbrothers Billy Pollack of AK and Richard (Julie) Pollack of CO. Mr. Jaggers served in the Army Reserve for seven years. He worked as a laborer in the Fiat Allis factory in Springfield. A member of the NRA, he was an avid hunter, and preferred to hunt ducks, geese, quail, pheasants and fox. He was a NASCAR fan and was a drag racer as a young man. Mr. Jaggers was of the Christian faith. Cremation rites were accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Private family graveside services will be conducted with his grandson Pastor Nicholas Donaldson officiating. Burial will be in Virden Cemetery.
