

David Beatty, 59, of Riverton, passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at his home. David was born on August 31, 1956 in Springfield, the son of John C. "J.C" and Beverly Gantt Ippolito. He married Glenda Taylor on September 23, 2006 in Elkhart. David graduated from Riverton High School, class of 1974, and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Benedictine University of Springfield. He proudly served as a registered nurse for the National Guard for more than 30 years. David also worked as a registered nurse for St. John's Hospital and Memorial Medical Center, where he was team leader and manager. David loved helping people; he would do anything for anybody. He was a die-hard Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan. David was preceded in death by his father, J.C.; and his sister, Pamela Beatty. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Beatty of Riverton; children, J.D. Beatty of Springfield, Nicole Beatty of Peoria, Zachary Beatty of Springfield, and Aaron Beatty of Riverton; his grandchildren, Tristan and Alyssa; his brother, John C. (Sharon) Ippolito of Riverton; five cats, BlackJack, Tigger 2, FurrBee, Sir Growls A Lot, and Roadie; two uncles; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Chaplain (LTC) Steve Foster officiating. Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery following the ceremony, with military honors.
