David P. Beck, Sr.

Dave was born on April 19, 1953, in Lafayette, IN, the son of Philip and Jean (Baldus) Beck. He married Lynda Glisson on June 19, 1976, at Church of the Little Flower.

Dave attended the University of Illinois and Illinois State University earning a bachelor's degree. He led a successful career in the retail industry for 34 years before transitioning to employment with the State of Illinois. He was a lifetime member of Church of the Little Flower. Dave enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard, gardening, and spending time on the beach. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wally Beck; and sister, Susan Keating.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Beck of Springfield; children, David (Joselyn) Beck of Eau Claire, WI, Matthew (Sarah) Beck of Cincinnati, OH, and Courtney (Michael) Donohue of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren, with one on the way; brother, Tim (Angela) Beck of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield, IL.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Church of the Little Flower with Rev. Allen Kemme, celebrant.
