David Glenn Miller

David Glenn Miller, 65, of Springfield, formerly of Jacksonville and Rochester, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 11, 2015. David was born in Springfield, on January 15, 1950, the son of Harry Glenn Miller and Frances L. Yoder. David married Jeanne Diane Allen on November 26, 1971 in Girard, IL. David proudly served our country from 1970-1977 in the Army National Guard. David worked for many years in the construction industry and then as an ASHI home inspector and a Radon Measurement Professional. He owned and operated David G. Miller & Associates. David was very active outside of work where he helped start CICASHI, was actively involved with CAAR, he raced his “Lightweight Missile” a ’67 Mustang , and he was a 25-year member of the Central Illinois Mustangers. David loved riding his motorcycle, was a member of the National Auto Sports Association (NASA), but most of all he loved spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandsons.

Surviving David is his wife Jeanne Diane Miller of Springfield; his daughter Tara Lynn Miller of Boca Raton, FL; his son Dustin Glenn (Lori Mussatto) Miller of Pittsburgh, PA; 4 grandsons: Dominic, Thomas, Grady, and Callum Miller; 2 sisters - Andrea J. McFadden of West Lake village, CA and Elaine D. Kerhlikar of Pawnee, IL; his mother, Frances Yoder of Port Charlotte, FL and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL, 62711. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday, April 16, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. A memorial service will be on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Those who wish may leave memorials in David’s name to The American Lung Association or Indiana University Melvin & Bren Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, IN.
