David Singer, 56, of Springfield, died on Friday, September 19, 2008 after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. David was born on January 18, 1952 in Springfield, the son of Roy and Florence Jasmon Singer. He married Susan Rosenberg in June 2000. She preceded him in death in 2007. David served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a loving father and grandpa that enjoyed being outdoors. David was also preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Aimee; and his sister, Mary Sue Johnson. He is survived by his children, Shawn Singer of Springfield, David Singer, Jr. of Quincy, Heather D. and Billie Sue Singer, both of Springfield; seven grandchildren; eight siblings; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley, officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County providing military honors.
