Deborah "Debbie" Ann Whitlock

Deborah �Debbie� Ann Whitlock, 61, of Glenarm, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Debbie was born January 12, 1955 in St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her twin birth brother Mike Smith, her adopted parents, Leo and Joyce Smith, and her beloved basset hound Elvis. Debbie spent the last 20 years of her life as a homemaker enjoying every moment with her family, and the love of her life, her husband William, of 23 years. Besides planting flowers throughout the year, Debbie was usually in the kitchen, where she loved to cook. Many times you would see her driving around town in her golf cart going to the post office or picking up her grandchildren off the bus in it. The school bus stop was located in front of the Whitlock home, so all of the neighborhood children congregated there, and referred to Debbie as a second mom. Debbie was known for her warm hospitality and selflessness to many children and many friends. She also never met a stray animal that she didn�t open her doors to. She loved all animals, but her favorite was her cat Missy Kitty. Debbie touched more animal�s, and people's lives than she realized, and the memories of her life will live on forever. Debbie will be greatly missed by her husband, William Whitlock of Glenarm; daughter, Julie (Donnie Lawrence) Rogers of Bunker Hill, IL; step-daughters, Tressie Whitlock of Auburn, Sharah Whitlock of Glenarm; grandchildren, Haley Rogers, Carter Greeling, Caleb Greeling, Saylor Lawrence, RayAnn Lawrence, Brendan Lawrence; step-grandchildren, Riley Garrett, Reise Garrett, Zachary Stevenson, Nathan Stevenson, Gregory Whitlock, Geramy Whitlock; sister-in-law, Betty Smith of MO; furbaby, Missy Kitty. Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, is serving the Whitlock family. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. A memorial service for Debbie will be given by the family on June 12, 2016, which will be their 24th wedding anniversary.
