Debra Sue Roberts

Debra Sue Roberts, 62, of Springfield, died at 9:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at St. John's Hospice. Debra was born October 9, 1950 in Greenville, OH, the daughter of Glenn and Betty Rolfe Ryan. She married Joseph Roberts on November 23, 1976 in Springfield. Debra attended Rochester High School, beauty school and nursing aide training. She worked at St. John's Hospital for 23 years and was a beautician at Pope John Paul High Rise. Debra was a member of Real Life Church, former member of the Saturday night supper club at Strike-n-Spare, and a score keeper for Dale Teubner Memorial Baseball team as well as IL District #3. She loved to play Bingo and collect dolls, especially kewpie dolls. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sandy Black; and one daughter, Anna Marie Roberts. She is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Roberts of Springfield; three sons, Michael (wife, Beth) Day of Kincaid, James Day of Taylorville and Joseph V. (wife, Emily) Roberts of Springfield; one daughter, Alicia Roberts of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Judy (husband, Richard) Yingling of St. Louis, MO, and Sherry (husband Lloyd) Johnson of Florida; one uncle, Junior (wife, Betty) Ryan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
