Delfina Ortega, 82, of Springfield, died at 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at her residence. Delfina was born September 11, 1930 in Bakersfield, CA, the daughter of Octaviano and Sara Lomely Ruiz. Delfina worked as a nurse's aide for more than 18 years and enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, attending Muni plays, flower gardening, and loved jigsaw puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents; numerous brothers and sisters; and one daughter, Esperanza "Hope" Ortega-Branson. She is survived by two sons, Larry (wife, Mary) Ortega of Arizona, and Andrew Ortega of Idaho; two daughters, Anita "Frankie" Wygal (companion, Bob Weed) of Springfield, and Mic (husband, Brad) Nahar of New York; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel and Paul Ruiz, both of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Private family ceremonies were held.
