Della M. Tisckos

Della M. Tisckos, 86, of Fort Wayne, IN, formerly of Springfield, died Saturday, February 7, 2004 at her home. She was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Springfield, the daughter of John and Wilhelmina Green. She married Charles G. Tisckos in 1939; he preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Tisckos graduated from Springfield High School and Lincoln Land Community College. She retired from the Social Security Administration office in Springfield in 1980. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Fort Wayne and had been a member of Blessed Sacrament parish in Springfield. She was a life member of Phi Beta Psi sorority and was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Navy Club of Sangamon County, Ship 32, and the Springfield Lithuania Club. She was also preceded in death by parents and three brothers, William, John, and Edward. She is survived by daughter: Nancy J. Vicars of Fort Wayne, IN; son: Charles G. Tisckos, Jr. (wife, Beryl Jean) of St. Charles, MO.; three grandsons; one granddaughter; three great granddaughters; two nieces and eight nephews. Family will receive friends at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2004. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2004 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Kevin Vann celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate, Memorial & Tributes Program, Dept 77-3968, Chicago, IL 60678-3968.
