She was born on January 30, 1934 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Francis and Florence (Masters) Hamilton. She married Robert E. Kern on August 10, 1952 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2009.
Delores worked as a bookkeeper for the Bradfordton Co-Op Grain Co, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Historic Grace Lutheran Church in Springfield.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Michael (wife Karen) Kern of Waukee, IA, and Daniel (wife Alice) Kern of Pleasant Plains, IL; 5 grandchildren, Jillian (husband Chris) Havran, Zachary (wife Chelsea) Kern, Nicholas (wife Ashton) Kern, Nathaniel (wife Cara) Kern, and Tyler (wife Amber) Kern; 5 great-grandchildren, Mason, Conner, Hallie, Kinsley, and Harrison; her brother Glenn Hamilton of Williamsville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield. Private family services will be held.
