Diane "Renee" Peek

Diane "Renee" Peek, 46, of Springfield, died at 11:31 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at St. John's Hospital. Renee was born February 4, 1970 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Jerry and Bonnie Burton Chronister. She married Ronald W. Peek on June 16, 1989 in Springfield. Renee attended New Berlin High School and was employed as a Paper Carrier for the SJR for more than 18 years; prior to that she worked as a security guard. She and her husband started Peek and Peek Construction Company in 1997. Renee enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, cooking, riding 4 wheelers, and listening to country music. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Peek of Springfield; son, Russell (fiance, Echo Akers) Rutherford, Jr. of Springfield; daughters, Carrie (husband, Kendrick, Sr.) Logan and Beth Jonell Peek Logan, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Cliff Peek Logan, Jessie Logan, Kendrick Logan, Jr., Helen Logan, and Nikita Logan, all of Springfield; step-granddaughters, Aurora Akers and Elizabeth Logan of Springfield; mother, Bonnie (husband, Martin) Bossmann of Springfield; siblings, Tammy (Jason Phillips) Goveia of Springfield, Diana K. Berry of CA, Jerry (Lisa) Chronister II of Murrayville, and Jerry Chronister III of Springfield; several step-brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Nicole (companion, Dominic Robertson) Rutherford, Kristy (husband, Mohamad) Elsew and Emma Phillips. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
