

Don "Whitey" Dennison, 70, of Springfield, died at 4:28 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Don was born October 2, 1939 in Buffalo Hart, the son of Russell and Letha Mae Bozarth Dennison. He married Judy Tinkham on April 28, 2001. Don was a graduate of Williamsville High School. He was employed by Carter Brothers Lumber Company and Elkhart Texaco. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Don was generous and loving. His family meant everything to him. He enjoyed woodworking, watching wrestling and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandchild; and many siblings. He is survived by his wife, Judy; one son, Don (Debbie) Dennison of Newport, NC; three daughters, Camille (Jerry) Woodard of Florissant, MO, Suzanne Tucker of Munford, TN and Melanie (Angela Grable) of Sherman; two stepsons, Patrick Tinkham of Peoria and Scott (Shannon) Tinkham of Mechanicsburg; one stepdaughter, Kerri (Robert) Klein of Chatham; nineteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two on the way; five siblings, Dorothy Hawk, Beulah Hunter, Roger (Jody) Dennison, Elizabeth (Dave) Jackson and Jill Gardner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield with Rev. Robert J. Jallas celebrant. Burial at Chatham Cemetery will be at a later date.
