Donald W. "Bill" Collier, 71, of Springfield, died at 1:08 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at St. John's Hospital. Donald was born May 12, 1942 in Peoria, the son of Sigurd W. and Annabel Larson. He married Donna Jastrzebski on October 7, 1972 in Springfield. Donald was employed as a maintenance engineer with the Secretary of State for 24 years until his retirement in 1995. During his early years, he sold newspapers, shined shoes and worked at various restaurants. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 916 and enjoyed bowling, country music, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Donna Collier of Springfield; two sons, Anthony P. Collier of Atlanta, GA and Emanuel W. Collier of Bloomington; two daughters, Amanda J. (husband, Andrew) Gutu of Bloomington and Elizabeth Collier of Springfield; three grandchildren, Thomas and Timothy Gutu, and Dayson Williams; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
