

Donald was born on September 12, 1930 in Stonington, IL, the son of Claude and Vena Robinson Campbell. He married Donna Duncheon on July 11, 1953 in Springfield at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Donald was a graduate of Stonington High School and attended Rankin Trade School in St. Louis. He served in the United States Air Force. For more than 30 years, Donald was employed as an electrician with CWLP and, prior to that, he worked at CILCO. Through the years, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, deer hunting, boating, tent camping, and watching westerns. Donald was a member of IBEW. His favorite part of growing older was proudly watching his children settle and have families of their own.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Robinson and his parents.
He is survived by his four sons, Steve Robinson of Los Angeles, CA, Keith Robinson of Springfield, Dale (wife, Paula) Robinson of Lewiston, TX, and Lee (wife, Patty) Robinson of Springfield; four daughters, Karen (husband, Steve) Gerlach of Chatham, Sandy Robinson of Springfield, Nancy (husband, Pat) Antonacci of Chatham, and Kathy (husband, Tim) Hull of Sherman; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Maxine Large of Taylorville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Butler Funeral Home—Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2000 E. Sangamon Avenue, Springfield with Rev. Clinton Honkomp, OP, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military honors by the Department of Defense. Due to COVID restrictions there will be limited capacity.
