Dorothy was born in Queens, NY February 20, 1925 the daughter of Otto and Charlotte (Weiler) Beer. Her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Elizabeth Beer all preceded her in death. She moved to Springfield to be near her family.
Dorothy retired in 1992 as Vice President of Title from the Motion Picture Association. She was a former member, choir member and secretary of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Manhattan, NY, a former member and secretary of Trinity Lutheran Church in Scarsdale, NY and currently a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Springfield. She served as a delegate to the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League while in New York.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Beverly (Martin) Stenoish of Germantown Hills, IL, Dr. Robert (Carol) Beer of Cuero, TX and Barbara (Craig) Williams of Springfield, IL as well as several great nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family will greet friends and family in the Chapel at Concordia Village 4101 W. Iles Ave. Springfield, IL 62711 from 1:00 pm Friday, September 30, 2022 until the time of a funeral service at 2:00 pm Friday. Chaplain Jeff Harter will officiate. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery at Middles Villages, NY on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
