Dorothy Mae Brager

Dorothy Mae Brager, 87 of Springfield, died at 9:27 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital. Dorothy was born on June 20, 1916 in Springfield the daughter of Fred and Nellie Power Ritterbusch. She married William Anthony “Bill” Brager on May 3, 1937; he preceded her in death on September 6, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Fred and George Ritterbusch and one sister, Mary Catherine Ritterbusch. Dorothy worked for Templegate Bookstore for many years and was a secretary for the State of Illinois Department of Public Aid where she retired. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She is survived by one son: Jon A. Brager of Springfield; four daughters: Carol Prefontaine of Bloomington, Jan (husband, Roger) Everhart of Portland, OR, Kathy (husband, John) Chepulis of Rochester, Joyce (husband, Peter) Millburg of Bloomington seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters: Sr. Kevin Ritterbusch, OSU of Springfield, Lorraine “Skip” Hamrick of Springfield; one brother: Harold (wife, Darlene) Ritterbusch of Quincy and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Meehling. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
