Dorothy "Dot" Chace

Dorothy "Dot" Chace, 91, of Springfield, died at 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at St. Joseph's Home. Dorothy was born August 22, 1918 in New Haven, CT, the daughter of Albert B. and Mable Homan Dibble. She married Robert Bates Chace on October 3, 1941, he preceded her in death. Dorothy graduated from Katherine Gibbs College in Providence, RI. She later went to work in personnel. She enjoyed her family, friends, tennis, homemaking, sewing, entertaining, and having a great time. She always had a smile. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bradley Chace; a sister, Charlotte Jones; and three grandsons. She is survived by a son, Robert (wife, Corinne) Chace of Wallingford, CT; a daughter, Suzanne Chace of Springfield, five grandchildren, Amy Langbehn of AZ and Robert Chace, Erica Heartline, Cindy Case and Allison Baxter of CT; a grand daughter-in-law, Marilynne McMillan of Springfield; twelve great grandchildren including Courtney Babiak, and Joey, Jessica , and Olivia Langbehn, all of Springfield; three nieces and five nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:15 on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at St. Joseph's Home Chapel, 3306 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Donald Meehling, officiating.
