Dorothy A. Eagan

Dorothy A. Eagan, 83, of Springfield, died at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 25, 2006 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Dorothy was born on February 21, 1923 in Quincy, Illinois. She married John Eagan; he preceded her in death in 1969. Dorothy was a member of West Side Christian Church and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She retired from Sangamo Electric after twenty-seven years of service and then retired from the State of Illinois Department of Revenue after fourteen years of service. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Pharris, one brother, Harold Bryant; one sister, Vivian Kendall and one step - sister, Myra Bouban. She is survived by one son, James P. (wife, June A.) Eagan of Springfield; one daughter Cheryl Eagan of Springfield; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three nieces and two nephews. The family welcomes friends to visit from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Kirlin - Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Private Graveside Services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family of Dorothy A. Eagan is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
