

Dorothy Mae Noesges, 83, of Springfield, died at 1:53 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital. Dorothy was born on April 7, 1924 at St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Thomas and Elnora Manning Gannon. She married Robert F. Noesges on October 10, 1942 in Chicago; he preceded her in death on November 23, 1999. She was a graduate of Springfield High School. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower and a longtime supporter of the Springfield Ballet Company and The Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs of America. She was a 50 year member of Laketown Pinochle Club and also was a former president of Sangamon County Home Bureau. Dorothy loved to entertain friends and family and everyone loved to come to her home. She loved basketball and baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinal games. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, home decorating and playing bridge. She retired from Bridge Jewelry Store in the 1980’s after twenty years of service as a salesperson. Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Pamela (husband, Ken) Murphy and Marsha (husband, Andrew S.) Gordon both of Springfield; one son, Mark (wife, Sandra) Noesges of Kingwood, TX; seven grandchildren: Lauren (husband, David) Niepert, Scott (wife, Karen) Noesges, Meghan Murphy, Alison Murphy, Michael (wife, Christina) Gordon, Andrea Gordon and Robby Gordon and two great grandchildren: Cameryn Murphy and Alaire Gordon. The family welcomes friends to visit from 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. with Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr. Springfield with Father Chuck Edwards celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield, IL 62703. The family of Dorothy Mae Noesges is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
