Dr. Jagdish Kaur Bains

Dr. Jagdish Kaur Bains, 69, of Springfield, passed away May 22, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center. Jagdish was born April 28, 1933 in Mahalpur, Punjab, India the daughter of Karam Singh and Dhanwant Kaur Bains. Dr. Bains received her medical degree with high honors at The Medical College Amritsar, Punjab University, India. She did her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Louis University. Dr. Bains practiced as a physician in the Springfield area for over 28 years. She was on the medical staff of Memorial and St. John’s Hospitals. Dr. Bains was board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and was elected a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is survived by two daughters: Dr.Jodie Rai of St. Louis, Professor Arti Rai of Philadelphia; three grandchildren: Richard, Matthew and Claire Millett; two nephews: Dr. Sonu Dhillon of Chicago and Dr. Harpreet Dhillon of Fremont, CA; one sister Ravinder Dhillon of Palo Alto, CA; one brother Harbhajan Singh Bains; three other sisters and many nieces and nephews Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 11-2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home.
