Dwayne Scott Houston

He was born on November 15, 1963, the son of Nathan C. and Barbara (Morton) Houston. He married Sherry Standefer on Oct. 25, 2007 in Edwardsville, IL and she survives.

Mr. Houston worked as a department manager for Walmart. Prior to that, he was a truck driver. He loved trucks, trains, movies, and music.

Besides his wife Sherry, he is survived by his parents, Nathan and Barbara Houston of Springfield, a son, Ricky (wife Kerri) Hogan of Farmersville, IL, 4 grandchildren, Brooklan, Anley, Mazi, and Koltan, a brother Phillip Morton of Eugene, OR, and 2 sisters, Rebecca (companion Calvin Taylor, Jr.) Houston of Springfield, and Stephanie Houston of St. Louis, MO. 2 nieces, Steffany Houston and Nicole Morton and 2 nephews, Jonathan Houston and Joshua Morton also survive.

Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield where visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 from 11 am until time of the funeral service at 1 pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home, with Rev. Dave Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery, Petersburg, IL.
