

Earl L Hollinshead, 86, lifelong resident of Springfield passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 22, 2012. Earl was born on February 24, 1926 in Springfield, the son of Thomas and Rosa (Kornick) Hollinshead. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After returning from the war Earl worked for Fiat-Allis until he retired in 1980. He married Angie McGrew in Springfield on July 16, 1972. Earl loved fishing, and was considered the “King of Shuffleboard.” Earl is survived by his loving wife Angie, daughter Debbie Hollinshead of Austin, TX, sister Norma Inkster of Tuscon, AZ, step-sons; Robert (Diane) McMann of Addison, IL, Floyd McMann of Lake City, FL, Richard (Diana) McMann of McLean, IL, Thomas McMann of Seminole, FL, Darrell (Betty) McMann of Grand Bay, AL, 2 special nephews Tom and Frank, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, at 10 a.m. at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E Allen St, Springfield IL 62703, Pastor Mike Pennell of Sherman United Methodist Church will conduct the services. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
