Eda Mae Shaffer

She was born January 5, 1930 in Springfield, the daughter of Art and Rachel Thompson Jennings. On September 23, 1950 she married Frank “Bud” Shaffer. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2005.

Mrs. Shaffer was a member of the Springfield Art Association, Water Color Society, Prairie Art Alliance, and a member of P.E.O. She was a legal secretary for years and was a professional watercolor artist.

She is survived by her daughter, Carla (husband, Kenny) Donathan of Springfield; several nieces and nephews, and many dear close friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 pm Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be 10 am Friday, April 27th at the funeral chapel with Rev. Julie Wells Blythe officiating. Interment Services will be held Friday following the service at Cherry Point Cemetery, rt 36 near Chrisman, IL with Pastor George Leroy Donathan officiating.
