Edward E. "Ed" Miller

Edward E. "Ed" Miller, 60, of Springfield, passed away at 4:58 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at St. John's Hospice. Ed was born May 12, 1955 in Springfield, the son of John Stewart Miller, Sr. and Irene Elise (Benke) Miller. He married Mary "Beth" Lycan on October 17, 1981 in Springfield. Ed founded Ed Miller Construction and was the owner and operator since 1986. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and former member of the Springfield Homebuilders Association. He enjoyed spending time hunting and camping at the cabin he built in Marshall, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Miller of Springfield; two sons, Matt (wife, Courtney) Miller of St. Louis and Josh (wife, Emily) Miller of Springfield; three grandchildren, Winston, Evie-Jo, and Gentry Miller; one brother, John Stewart Miller, Jr. of Springfield; three sisters, Marilyn (husband, Dave) Cisco and Jane Watkins, both of Springfield and Margaret (husband, Bob) Kirlin of Bentleyville, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Mark Estrop officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
