Eileen M. Connolly

Eileen M. Connolly, 90, of Springfield, passed away at 4:33 p.m. April 9, 2008 at St. John's Hospital Hospice. Eileen was born March 9, 1918 in Springfield, the daughter of Daniel Michael and Mary Margaret Luby Dacy. They preceded her in death. She married Michael J. Connolly on October 25, 1941. He preceded her in death. Eileen was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and was a member of the Ursuline Alumi Association. She retired after twenty-seven years of service from American Illinois National Insurance Company, now known as AIG, where she was a supervisor in the coding department. She was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister, Extra Ordinary Minister and a Minister of Care. She was also a member of the Heavenly Dusters, a group of ladies who cleaned the church. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hickey. She is survived by one son, Dan (wife, Beverly) Connolly of Springfield; two daughters, Michelle (husband, Ken) Campbell of Sherman and Mary Long of Albany, GA; eight grandchildren, Dan (wife, Sue) Connolly of Chatham, Brian (wife, Patti) Long and Leslie Long of Albany, GA, Melissa (husband, Vince) Camille of Sherman, Melinda and Michaela Campbell of Sherman, Monica (husband, Darren) Wiesenmeyer of Springfield, and Carrie (husband, John) Connolly Lisle of Alexandria, VA; nine great-grandchildren, Michael Richner, Kyle Campbell, Isabella Wiesenmeyer, Julia Long, Michael Camille, Ryann Dacy Camille, Anna Eileen Connolly Lisle, Burke and Hudson Hardin; one sister, Bernadine Gorman of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 9:00 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1345 N. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Thomas P. Holinga, V.F. celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Home 3306 S. 6th St. Rd., Springfield, IL 62703-4709. The family of Eileen M.
