

Eileen Boyle Sheibley, 97, of Springfield, died at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Heddington Oaks in Peoria, IL. Eileen was born April 18, 1916 in Springfield, the daughter of Allen and Clara Ambuehl Stinnett. She married Edward "Ted" Boyle on June 29, 1935 in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1969. She later married Paul Sheibley on October 8, 1976; he preceded her in death on August 1, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her son, Bruce Boyle; two brothers, LaVerne and LaRue Stinnett; and sister, Irma Beattie. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Boyle of Peoria; two grandchildren, Brett (Marianna) Boyle and Leslie (Kent) Ebersold; and four great-grandchildren, Sean and Kelsey Boyle, and Jack and Sam Ebersold. Eileen attended Brown's Business College and was employed as a secretary to the late Congressman, Peter Mack. She then worked as the film librarian for Sangamon County Schools and later retired from the State Board of Education in 1976. Eileen was a member of Westside Christian Church for 90 years, served on the board of the YWCA for 16 years, was active in the Democratic Party, and enjoyed dancing. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
