Eldon was born on January 17, 1943, in Gilman, IA, the son of Harold Edwin and Bessie Maragret (Curry) Wunn. He married Christine Althoff on March 15, 1969, at the First Baptist Church in West Covina, CA.
Eldon graduated from East Marshall High School in Le Grand, IA, class of 1961. After high school, he proudly served aboard the USS Uhlmann, as a sonar man, in the U.S. Navy. Eldon loved to travel and wanted to see the world. The Navy allowed him to do just that and paved his way to his future success. He was a good manager in business, built his own company, and even restored an old home in the Chicago area. Eldon was intelligent, clever, had a lively sense of humor, loved to laugh, go on camping trips with his family, read history, and tell stories about his childhood back on the farm. He enjoyed working with his hands and building high-quality furniture. He was a devoted Christian and was often involved with church life. Eldon truly cared about people, loved to help his neighbors whenever he could, and most of all, loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gaylon Wunn; infant sister, Gwendolyn Wunn; brothers-in-law, Chuck Beebee and Phil Lord; and sister-in-law, Sheryll Wunn.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Christine; children, Dennis Wunn of Dallas, TX; daughter, Barb (Pete) Sherman of Springfield, IL; two grandchildren, Luke Sherman and Lydia Sherman; brother, Lonny (Linda) Wunn; and sisters, Collette Beebee and Jeanine Lord.
