

Elesia was born on August 15, 2008, in Peoria, the daughter of Elijah Wilson and Shawna Meredith.
Elesia was a 7th grade student at Franklin Middle School, where she was awarded Student of the Month for September and was the 2020 Student of the Year. She enjoyed snapchatting with her family and friends, eating chicken nuggets and french fries from McDonald’s, archery, dancing, and spending time with her sister and family. Elesia was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Doris Floyd; aunt, Latonya Hodges; great-grandfather, Alan McCumber; and great-grandparents, Lonnie and Fern Meredith.
She is survived by her parents, Shawna Meredith of Springfield and Elijah Wilson of Greenville, MS; one sister, Eliana Wilson; grandparents, Mark and Karen Meredith of Springfield; great-grandmother, Joyce McCumber of Springfield; two aunts, Erica (significant other, Lance Morgan) and Brianna Meredith, both of Springfield; and many great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
