Elizabeth Jayne Durham

Elizabeth "Bette" Jayne Durham, 85, of Springfield passed away at 8:00 a.m. on March 6, 2011 at her residence. Bette was born in Hannibal, MO on November 13, 1925, the daughter of Edwin and Willa Gardner Taylor. She married Robert H. Durham on March 8, 1947 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1998. Bette was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. She had worked as a bookkeeper for IDOT and retired in the mid 1970's. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edwin Taylor Jr.; sister, Willa M. Heibel; great-grandson, Patrick Tholen; and son-in-law, Gary Bollinger. She is survived by her son, Daniel (wife, Carol) Durham of Springfield; three daughters, Jacquie Bollinger of Kirkwood, MO, Vicki (husband, Doug) Clapp of Springfield and Jane (husband, John) Ihnen of Rochester; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Joshua Durham officiating.
